    Invention

    Definition:
    any art or process (way of doing or making things), machine, manufacture, design, or composition of matter, or any new and useful improvement thereof, or any variety of plant, which is or may be patentable under the patent laws of the United States.

    Trademark

    Definition:
    A word, symbol, design, combination of numbers or letters, or other device which identifies and distinguishes products in the marketplace; icons, company names, brand names, and packaging can all have trademark protection.

    Disclosure Document

    Definition:
    A document disclosing an invention, and signed by the inventor or inventors, that is forwarded to the USPTO only as evidence of the date of conception of the invention.

    Watch List

    Definition:
    Official U.S. designation that describes the level of intellectual property problems in a given country; countries having some intellectual property problems
